♥ ♛ the romantic moment he gave me ..

After all the classes & the work,in the weekends i usually being a lazy ass. I have been doing nothing but sleeping & browsing the internet for the whole day!. Hney is busy doing his work for his presentation next week. He hasn't been sleeping for almost 4 days now,he stayed up all night long & only took a nap later on lunch time. Poor thing ~

Anyway, while i was figuring out what to do,i saw choggie in the other side of my bed. I remembered that i haven't post any blog about him.

So i am in the mood of telling little stories about hney gifts since choggie was one of his surprises.
(Romantic Mode = On)

Since the first time i knew him, hney has always been the kind of guy that always makes me feel special. I'm not even sure what he did.. he just does. He's not really a romantic kind of guy, really. He will not do the sweet things to me everyday. But while i didn't expect it,he always succeedly surprised me that didn't even give me any clues of what was about to happened!. That's why it always goin to be special and will always be. =)

I remembered this one time, sometime after my birthday;2 years ago,we dine in pizzahut. while we're waiting for our food ordered,he said he needed to use the toilet. I waited for about half an hour and asked me to close my eyes. I thought he was going to make some jokes while eventually he ran along outside to buy me candles that he put into the cake from pizzahut to wished me happy birthday. i knew that it was spontaneous thing.. it was just touching!.

He also gave me this huge set of beautiful roses before i had to moved back to Indonesia. I kept it until it died. Quite sometimes he bought me roses that people sell in the street where we were happened to be there. It always makes me blushed.

But the one thing that i remember the most is when i was about to have a vacation back in Indonesia, just couple of months before this present time,i was already staying in Malaysia at that time. Unfortunately,my flight was canceled that day,but the day after it,a package of big beautiful roses arrived at my door with a note that says "Sorry for hasn't being a good 'husband' lately". I felt like i was going to cry at that time!. That package supposedly sent to my home in Jakarta, but since the flight has been canceled,he sent it at the apartment in malaysia. How sweet ~

this is the pics of the flowers he sent me that day..

Later on,on our birthday we were in Thailand,at hney's home country. We were about to celebrate both our bithday together for the first time, because for the last 2 years,we had not a chance to celebrated it together. Mine's in 27th Dec,his is on 28th Dec,just a day later mine's. what a coincidence, isn't it!. As for me,i don't need anything that special on my birthday. some little meaningful are already mean a looot to me. For example, the presence of the people i love the most and their prayers are already are the best gift for me. I'm glad that he felt the same way too. So that night,we blow our little cakes..

Before we blow the cakes,we went to this mall in Thailand for a little refreshing. The story is a little bit similar with the Pizzahut story that i told you before. We went for lunch in Sizzler. He said he wanted to go somewhere for a bit (he didn't say where). I actually was already felt suspicious. I was damn nervous the whole time while i was waiting for him. After about 20 minutes he came back with empty hand. I figured i was just too confidence and i forgot about my guess already. After we finished the lunch,he said he wanted to stob by one of the department store in the mall,we went to the sections of Dolls and Teddies. He then said that I can find some cute ones and he will buy it for me. I started looking, until hney was already in the front of me,holding a giiiannntt wrapped gift. It was already wrapped!!. He was smart,he asked me to look around so then he can freely go to the counter where they wrapped it and kept it for him!.
And of course,it was a giiiant teddy!!. A giiiant hugee one!!. The biggest i've ever had. It is a dog teddy,he chose it because i used to have this small dog doll where i used to sleep with it all the friggin time. He was named 'doggie'. But doggie was broken sometimes after i move to malaysia. I still kept it in my wardrobe,i'm afraid to ripped it even more. Hney knew about it,and he then chose a teddy that looks a bit similar with my old doggie. That's why i named him choggie from 'chocolate & doggie',since his color is chocolate. ~
I LOVEEE IT!!.

and this is choggie

Thank you,hney..
You're the sweetest and best i've ever had! ever!.

Oooh, and Hney made a painting of us at the first year we broke up & live separately. When he was still in college in KDU in Penang Island,Malaysia taking Interior Design. He had to make a painting at that time for his assginment, and he paint this.. (right now Hney is in ,Equator Academy of Art)

His painting is abut our Long Distance Relationship which is over right now because we're together again now. =)
We had LDR on the 2nd year we were together that eventually we broke up for about a year. Me in a towel represent a very me,the stairs represent the long and far ways that separated us,the black tree or could also mean a crack between us,and hney close up face represent that this is the way he saw us at that time.
HOW SMART and BEAUTIFUL,is it?.

The Silver Lining

I've always been a firm believer in the saying "Everything Happens for a Reason," a belief instilled in me by my mom and Nana. I repeat that thought during perplexing and surprising moments, but most often, I repeat it during difficult times.

I always seek comfort in the belief of a reason, although, many times, when in the midst of a challenging period, it seems impossible to see what the reason is.

"Every Cloud Has a Silver Lining," is a phrase that sums up the belief in a different way, and last night, E and I were discussing our own recent "silver lining" in life-- a missed job opportunity that at the time was devastating, but which we can now clearly see was a tremendous blessing in disguise.

As E and I try to navigate this new piece of life we've begun carving out, this poster would make for a very perfect reminder that a year from now, we may well look upon other silver linings still yet unseen.

♫ Awesome Beat..

Santogold or Santigold..

Talented new artist!. She is a mucician,a songwriter, and also a producer.
The first time I heard her was in Gossip Girl Soundtrack, there were one of the scene that play her song 'Shove It' in the background. It was soo catchy that I had to google that song. After Shove It,I listened to her other songs,& it was just worth to hear if you're looking for something fresh and catchy, even though my BF finds it a bit annoying for him. =(
Her unique music is categorized kind of into rock, new wave, post-punk, electronic, and dub in the same time,or *electro-pop in my perspective. She has been compared a lot with M.I.A & Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs (which is one of my most fav band of all time!).
She is Santi White better known by her former stage name as Santogold or (now) Santigold.
She is best known for her single..
♥ L.E.S Artistes & The Creator. You can see her official video right now in YouTube.
Personally,I like her other songs which are..

♥ Say Aha,
♥ Shove It, &
♥ You'll Find A Way (Switch & Graeme Sinden Remix).. it's worth to hear ~
Apparently she's been voted by
The Rolling Stones to be one the must artist to watch in 2008.
Soooo..... ~ she's not bad at all!.
Make sure you check out her album while she's still hot.. or just type her in Youtube.

The other talented & unique artist that I'm listening to right now is..
Lykke Li, a swedish indie singer.

She is magnetic!!. I simply confused how to categorized her music. Lykke Li came to my playlist while I was reading the review of her in one of the Radio station.
Some of her very catchy songs are..
♥ Breaking it Up
♥ Little Bit
♥ I'm good I'm gone

'Youth Novels' album of hers..

♥ NISYA is 11months now!!.

Heee ~ My lovely baby sister is 11months now!.
She's an adorable baby.. veryyy cutee & smart.
She's able to sit down by herself now, clapping hands when you asked her, pretend to have a headache when you said "pusiiing", do a little finger dance when you sing for her, & said "AHH" if nobody was talking & she wants to play.
HAHAA.
Isn't it just the cutest thing ever?
She hardly recognized me when I went back at first, because I left her quite sometimes that confused her.. but we're getting along through days. =)

This is some pictures of her..

Oh by the way,I found some cutee special characthers on the web.
Thought I might share..

☠ I Got Robbed..

My Auntie got married!.
T.qiqi..
I remembered we used to live together in Makassar just both of us,sharing our stories, changing BF..hahaa.
Can't believe she got married now ~
Soo congrats to her & her new hubby!. Om Akbar.

I went back to Makassar for a week to attend her wedding day & also to nostalgia with my high-school friends.
It wasn't bad at firsts. The wedding was fun..I get to see the whole process & considered it as my training before MY real marriage. =)
I also get to hang out with my gang..
despite all the fun..I had a terrible experienced after 3days staying there.

This is the story..
I was hanging out with my friends at that day. We went to the beach, around 15 of us. Eating corn with cheese & chocolate.. yummy!. After all the fun,we decided to went back home. I rode the bike with ADHYA,one of my girlfriend. It was a smooth road at firsts, but after we were about to turn right on the traffic light, these 2 guys went to the back of us,tapped me on my shoulder, and robbed my purse away.
=(
my favorite Neverfull LV purse.. with a camera that worst quite some money, My LG phone that I got for free from my friend after I won the dance competition. and my crocodile skin wallet.
I chased the robbery & screamed as loud as I can that night, but seems like everybody was busy with their own thing that only one bike that was trying to help me out.
I saw a crowd of people a few blocks from where I got robbed,I went down & ask what was going on there but they said somebody was having a fight. So I thought I should just stay away as far as I could & head back home.

The next day,I received an information that the police had caught the robbery & found my purse. But the camera (which is the most inportant thing in that bag) and my phone was already gone.
What's the point?
After 2 days later,I went to the police station to report my case. & saw the 2 robbery behind bars.

What doesn't make sense is,that.. why would the police found my purse & my wallet with my complete money,& ATM in there, but how come they lost the camera & my cell?
I clearly put my camera in my camera bag,and guess what...the police found the camera bag,but just it was empty inside!!!!!!.
& also,I put my cell inside the zipper of the purse, and it's also gone!!.

According to the police, this is what happened..
After the 2 robbery took my bag and speed up with the bike, they were in the wrong place & time because at that time there were many police there were doing a routine of stopping the illegal racing around the road. The robbery almost hit one of the police, fell, and ran away. They hide separately in other people house.
Of course, the people who live among there were suspicious & eventually beat the crap out of the robbery. & according to them..my purse fell laying on the street that the police saved them after.
So you see..
If the mass of people were beating the crap out of the robbery, they wouldn't have time to actually open my camera bag, take the camera, closed the camera bag & put it back in the purse. They also wouldn't have time to,then, open the zip of my purse, take my cell, and zipped off the purse again. It's gonna be too obvious and somemody else will eventualy see them stealing things out of my bag. It's just too weird. They didn't even take my wallet at all!!. They are people with not much education,a.k.a VILLAGE people that they wouldn't be that smart and they would take my wallet as the first thing they would steal.
It's just too neat.. too impossible..

So where has my camera and my cell gone?
Only God knows where it gone..
It might happened that the robbery already passed it along to their other friends,or the mass people that were beating the crap out of him could also take them,or even the corrupted police could take them and pretend like they were innocent.
Wallahu, 'alam.
Right now I can only be 'Ikhlas' even though I'm still hoping for a little bit,I'm still hoping to find my camera that got stolen,AMIN.
Whatever best happened for a reason..

Maybe I can only hope,if only the police in our beloved country worked hard & not corrupted.
& actually served the people, like what their duty is suppose to..

>> (this is the actual thiefs, the chubby one was the one rode the bike, the thief on the right was the one who robbed my purse) <<

Gliding Down the Rails

I love to travel as much for the destination as for the trip itself. Although I am always excited to arrive at my journey's end, I enjoy the process of getting there as well. I've mentioned it before, but I love airports and planes, and I adore a good road trip.

E & I watched this movie over the weekend, and I have been thinking about train travel ever since. I have only traveled by train a handful of times, and while I loved each trip, none were as glamorous as the one depicted in these photos.

The romance associated with rail travel (and air travel as well) from bygone eras doesn't quite exist in today's harried society, with travel more closely linked to delays and long lines, but I still am captivated by the idea of a grand adventure spent in luxurious clothing, with scenery flying by, as a train races down the tracks towards its next destination.

**And in other news, we are still without Internet at home...

A Sweet Escape

The past few days have been punctuated with a grey, dreary drizzle, and this home in the Bahamas by Tom Scheerer looks like the most perfect place to escape. It seems to have all the necessary elements for a relaxing getaway...

A charming backyard in which to linger over a meal and a bottle of wine with friends.

A lovely fireplace by which to warm yourself should the night air get chilly.

In the morning, you will have a plethora of straw hats and towels to choose from on your way to the beach.

When you return to the house in the afternoon, you can toss your iPod and keys on the console.

In the living room, you can finish another chapter in your book before heading upstairs to the bedroom.

A most perfect place to take a nap.

Once you are rested, you can grab clothes out of the dresser,

And head into the bathroom, to soak in the tub as you prepare for your evening company to arrive again.

Just a Note

You might be an Internet addict when... you discover Panera Bread closes earlier than you'd expected on a Friday night, so you decide to try to get the Wi-Fi signal from your car before leaving. Yes, I made E sit with me for 30 minutes on Friday while I got online before the WiFi signal was shut off by the staff!

As many of you know, E & I have been in the midst of a move over the last few months. I am happy (and rather embarrassed) to say that we finally moved into an apartment last week, which we will have for the next six months.

As happens during moves, I am at the mercy of companies waiting for installation of services, and it is absolutely killing me to wait for an Internet connection. I am suppose to have service starting this upcoming Friday, but until then, my posting (and commenting) may continue to be a little sporadic. Just wanted to let you know where I've been this last week and why I may be rather absent this one as well.

I have decided that I am hopeless without my computer and Internet access; I feel as useless as a typewriter is in modern society without them. I am, however, still enamored with the idea of typewriters, so I figured that, for now, I'd leave you with some of my favorite typewriter images as of late.

A Labor of Love

A well-crafted mix, a compilation of songs carefully selected to tell a perfect story, has always been a gift of considerable thought. It's a gift that is as easy to bestow on a best friend as a lover, and it's always a bold move to bestow one on a crush.

Technology has advanced the art of creating a mix; cds and mp3s have made it easier to fine-tune selections, to rearrange songs until the mix tells the exact story you want. While I can't complain about these advances (for I'm certain I spend more time now than ever before trying to achieve the perfect song order,) as surely as I date myself writing this, I can say nothing quite compares to the labor of love that was a mix tape.

Mix Tape USB Stick. I love these- they appeal to the mix tape fanatic who still lives inside me.

When making a mix tape, you often had to catch your favorite new songs on the radio. When they played, you waited patiently for the dj to stop talking, hoping he wouldn't talk too much over the beginning (or the end) of the song because you wanted to catch as close to the original versions as possible.

When you did catch a favorite song or when you were recording music from another cassette or a cd, you listened with the greatest of concentration; you wanted to stop the tape at the exact right spot-- not too soon and not too late. Knowing that spot was a well-honed skill that made a mix tape flow more smoothly from one song to the next.

Playlists were compiled with care to make sure they not only conveyed the right mood, but that they were also split acceptably between Side A and Side B; if you weren't cognizant of song length, you might find an unintentionally abrupt stop to the music at the end of a side.

Before embarking on recording the mix, you also had to be fairly confident with the order of your selections. Once a song was sandwiched between two others, a change was only possible if you could find a song of equal length to fill the space or if you were willing to re-record everything after the change in selection. Once an entire side was recorded, there was often no turning back.

Choosing the title of the tape, as well as the right words for the stickers on both sides, felt monumentally important. Fitting the entire playlist on the allotted spaces of the case liner was a creative challenge, and sometimes the cover of the case liner turned into your own work of art.

When the last song had been recorded, the liner notes written, and identifying stickers placed on each side of the tape, you'd slide the cassette into its case. The finished product you then held in your hands was not just a mix tape, but was also a labor of love.

Because I still have a huge collection of my old mix tapes, I love the idea of this product!

I was interviewed by Tina, the sweet gal behind the blog Luphia Loves, as part of her Beauty Tuesdays; my interview is now up, and you can read about my beauty secrets, including my favorite products (and let's just say I am a bit obsessed with the ones that are meant for lips...)

Thanks, Tina, for including me in this very fun series. And, if you don't read it already, be sure to check out Luphia Loves, which always features an incredible mix of design from fashion to interiors!

Little Boxes of Love

Everything Brooke Reynolds posts on Inchmark is sweet and inspiring, and these Valentine's she made with her kids (to hand out to their classes) are no exception. I am absolutely smitten and would adore receiving one of these myself! Love. Love. Love.

Love. Dreams. Heartbreak.

I absolutely adore both of these prints. The black. The gold. The words. The typography. The small, yet perfect additions of the (bird and heart) images. The prints almost serve as counterpoints to each other, but love, dreams, and heartbreak all exist in one life, so there is surely room for both prints in one house! Love. Love. Love.

My French is terribly rusty (sad explanation in this post- scroll to "French Cloud Notebook,") but the description for this print lists the English translation as, "Nothing is real but dreams and love." Beautiful.

Heather Amuny-Dey at Velocity

Although this print mentions heartbreak, it also speaks of love-- because one must first know love before one can know heartbreak, no? And I imagine we have all encountered that voice at some point; the words could be uttered (or simply thought) about a person with whom one is hesitant to become involved, knowing only heartbreak can follow, or about a person who is so heartbroken words can't hide her pain.

♥ Thailand friggin' Trip !!

Time seems to have gone by so fassst!. I felt like it was just yesterday while I graduated from high-school, & now I'm already on my 2nd semester in University. WOW!.

2008 was a good year for me. I didn't do much, after I graduated I took a year gap to just hang-out with my family. I did & it was a good time with them. My mom got a baby girl last year, a cute, pretty baby girl, we named her NISYA. I took pretty good care of her,& i enjoyed being a big sister.

2008 was also the year when I moved to Msia. It was also the year where I met manyyyyyyy new people. Of course there's plenty of things in Malaysia that I didn't like at all & it's a very tough new thing for me. But I've tried to be strong & just to live. =D . I'm glad I have my Hney here to help me out through soo manyy things ,that If he wasn't here, I would've create a big mess of myself. So thank you,hney.. =D

Anyway,in the end of the year of 2008,I travel with hney & some of my friends to THAILAND (again). We had a pretty fun times together. We went to Koh Samui Island,Bangkok,Pattaya, and many other places where there were mountains & beachs. Most of the time we stayed in Hney (Raouf) house, his parents were so kind that they provided us EVERYTHING. By that I meant EVERYTHING. =D. So thank you again..

If I have to told the whole stories about the trip,I probably wouldn't even remember. HAHA. because we did a loot of things,& it's going to be a long writing.

Well, maybe I'll just tell the stories of what we did on New Year's eve.
Jamie & Caroline (the friends that I went the trip with) already went back by new year's eve. They had to be home for christmas. So,Hney gang & me headed out to some place where there were mountains. It was a friggin' awesome experienced. We camped for about 3days & we did incrediblyyy looootss & tooonss of things. On new year's eve I was, unfortunately, asleep. BLAH!. I know..I sucked. The others were out of the camp, setting up fire, eating barbeque, fireworks, singing together & all that fun stuff, but I was just too tired at that time that I had to go back inside the camp and sleep. It's probably also because it was soooo damn cold!. I wore, like, layers & layers of clothes & I was still freezing. LOL.

Oh..it was such a good time..

These are some of the pictures from the trip.

Aaannd up the mountain..
